Cybersecurity Essentials gives learners a practical foundation in how organisations protect users, devices, networks, accounts, and data. It is designed for students, junior IT staff, support teams, and business users who need more than awareness training but are not yet ready for advanced security specialisation.
The course starts with risk, common attack paths, confidentiality, integrity, availability, security responsibilities, and the difference between policy and technical control. From there, participants study identity security, MFA, password practices, endpoint protection, firewall basics, WiFi and network segmentation, backup thinking, logging, and incident reporting.
A strong part of the course is translating security into everyday operations. Learners discuss phishing, suspicious login activity, lost devices, shared passwords, unmanaged administrator access, and what to do when something feels wrong.
